So today was one of those days where you feel like you are in a dream. Or it could be that I am very sleep deprived, but I'd like to think I'm not losing my mind,so lets just say its one of those days where you slow things down a little and sit back and just wonder where all the time has gone ...26 years old,6 years of marriage, and 2 kids later...
Growing Up!
Lately, Carter has seemed so grown up to me. For example, he use to play outside with his friends only if I would come with him. As he got older, he decided he would play with them and come see where I was every five minutes. He would walk in the house and say, " Mom, where are you?" I would answer and then he would slam the door shut and off he was. It made me feel good, like he needed me. Now, just this past week, he goes outside to play with his friends and I don't hear a word from him for hours, no more, mama come with me, no more, " mom! where are you?" He's just gone, I go and find him now. Okay this is making me sad, next...
Sounding It Out!
Carter is beginning to sound out words. He knows the sounds of the letters in the word, so now he is trying to figure how to put them together quickly to form the word.
Sweetness!
Lately Carter has been really huggy and lovey, which I love. Usually he is too busy for all the mushy stuff. His hugs are long and strong these days, not just a quick one so he can go play.
I love my dad!
Matt went to the library last Saturday. Carter said," wait dad" and ran and gave him a big hug, said his goodbyes, then sat of the curb and watched his dad drive away without one blink until he was out of site. Matt told me this story because he watched him in the rear view mirror and said it melted his heart. Carter loves his daddy!
Brotherly Love
It is so adorable to watch how much Carter loves Mason. Mason has a love/hate relationship with Carter. When Carter comes in the room, Mason smiles and giggles from ear to ear. He loves him as long as he stays about 5 feet away from him, but if Carter comes close to him or touches him, he begins to cringe and cry. He has every right to because he is either going to have his nose or cheeks pinched, be sat on, or be pat really hard on the top of the head. No matter how many times we try to tell Carter he is too rough, he doesn't get it. It's hard to get mad at him, because he is not doing it to be mean, he thinks he's playing with his little brother, when really he is torturing him (ahhh)!
